Booking and cancellation terms

Reservations and confirmation

When making a reservation, the customer must provide their name, address of residence, contact details, as well as the arrival and departure dates. The reservation is binding from the moment it is made. Payment is made at the time of booking.

Check-in and check-out times

The room is available from 4:00 PM on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. The room will be held for the guest until 6:00 PM. If the guest arrives later than this, they must inform us to avoid the reservation being cancelled.

Upon arrival, the customer is required to complete the legally required registration form.

Cleaning

Bed linen, towels, and final cleaning are included in the room rate. We ask that the room be left in a condition reflecting normal use upon departure: furniture and other items in their places and in good condition.

Cancellation and no-show

Any cancellation must always be communicated to Mattila house, preferably in writing, for example by email.

The customer may cancel a one-night reservation free of charge at least 3 days before the start date of the booking. Cancellations made less than 3 days before the start of the reservation are non-refundable, unless the room can be rebooked.

For longer stays, the customer may cancel free of charge at least 15 days before the start date of the reservation. After that, we will charge 50% of the booking value for any nights that cannot be rebooked.

If a guest cancels a reservation for multiple nights less than 15 days before the start of the booking, and the room cannot be rebooked, the full amount of the reservation will be charged.

Behaviour of the guest at the guesthouse

Guests are expected to observe good manners, house rules, and safety regulations. If these rules are violated, the guest may be removed from the guesthouse immediately. The guest is still required to pay for the accommodation and is not entitled to a refund of any payments already made.

Equality and non-discrimination

At Mattilan Talo, we are committed to equality and non-discrimination. These principles guide both our work and how we welcome our guests. We want every visitor to feel safe and truly at ease.

Alcohol, drugs, and smoking

Mattila house is alcohol‑ and drug‑free. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages or other intoxicants onto the premises.

Smoking is prohibited inside the guesthouse. Smoking is only permitted in the designated outdoor area. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in the designated container, not on the ground. Unauthorized smoking indoors will incur a €100 ventilation fee.

Pets

Pets are not allowed in the Taivaskamari, the Peräkamari, or in Pirtti. Dogs are welcome in the Toinen kamari. A 15 € additional cleaning fee per reservation applies for dog guests.

Liability for damages

The guest is responsible for the room and its contents during their stay. The guest is liable for any damage caused to the property or its furnishings and must compensate Mattila house accordingly.
